This guide uses our skull cap AI video generator. If you haven’t seen the format yet, read the skull cap trend explained first. It takes a minute.
Step 1: Pick the photo
The photo decides how much the video looks like you. Aim for:
- One person only. Group photos confuse it.
- Face clearly visible and facing the camera.
- Good light, sharp focus.
- No sunglasses, masks or beauty filters.
- Chest up is ideal. The first shot keeps the clothes from the photo, so pick an outfit you are happy to post.
- Your own hair showing works better than a hat, since the AI adds the cap itself.
JPG, PNG or WebP, up to 10 MB. iPhone HEIC photos need exporting as JPG first (or just take a screenshot of the photo).
Step 2: Generate the clip
- Open the generator and upload the photo.
- Tick the box confirming it is your photo, or that the person in it agreed.
- Choose Standard (480p) or HD (720p). Same clip, HD is sharper on a big screen.
- Press Generate and pay with PayPal. A single video works without an account.
The render takes a few minutes. You can close the page: come back in the same browser, or sign in and look under My videos. If a render fails, the credits go back to your balance on their own.
Want to see it first? Sign in with a verified email and make the free preview: four seconds of you, a quick before, the cut and you in the cap, 480p and silent. It is one per account and device, while the day’s free previews last.
What comes back
- A 10-second MP4, vertical 9:16, no watermark.
- About 4 seconds of you without a cap, in your own clothes, grinning, ruffling your hair and holding up a black skull cap.
- A hard cut, about 4 to 5 seconds in.
- The room goes dark and red. You in a plain black skull cap and black hoodie, glasses off, cold and confident, as the camera slowly pushes in.
- No sound, so you add it when you post.
Step 3: Add the sound and post
TikTok
- Download the MP4 to your phone.
- In TikTok, tap + and pick the video from your gallery.
- Tap “Add sound” and search for the skull cap trend sound, the “Wild Thoughts” snippet most people use.
- Slide the sound so the beat drop lands on the cut, about 4 to 5 seconds in.
- Write a caption and post.
Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts
Same idea: upload the clip, add the sound from the app’s music library, line the beat up with the cut. If the exact sound isn’t in that app’s library, pick the same part of the song.
Mistakes that ruin it
- A far-away or group photo. The face gets small and the result drifts away from you.
- Sunglasses or a heavy filter. The AI has less of your real face to work with.
- The beat in the wrong place. If the drop doesn’t land on the cut, the joke falls flat. Move the sound, not the video.
- Someone else’s photo without asking. Don’t. Only use photos of yourself or of people who said yes.
Something went wrong anyway? The skull cap AI not working page goes through each problem.
Skull cap AI how-to FAQ
How do I do the skull cap trend without a skull cap?
Use an AI generator. Upload one clear photo of yourself and it makes both shots: you without the cap, then you in a plain black skull cap and black hoodie after the cut.
What photo works best?
One person, facing the camera, face sharp and well lit, no sunglasses or heavy filters, ideally from the chest up. The first shot keeps the clothes from the photo, so wear something you like.
How do I add the skull cap sound?
Upload the MP4 to TikTok, tap the sound button and search for the skull cap trend sound (a “Wild Thoughts” snippet). The cut is about 4 to 5 seconds in, so slide the sound until the beat lands there. Reels and Shorts work the same way.
How long does it take?
A few minutes for the render. You can close the page and come back in the same browser, or sign in and open My videos.
Do I need an account?
Not for a single Standard or HD video. You can pay with PayPal as a guest. The larger HD packs need you to sign in.
Can I make one for a friend?
Yes, with their okay. Only upload photos of yourself or of people who said yes, and never of minors or celebrities.
